video games are not cinema or hollywood. video games are art. developers need to continue to explore what games do that film can’t. rez, cosmic smash, killer7, ikaruga, and so on. works of art you can fall in love with. art that conveys feelings the way a film doesn’t have the ability to….

Reblogging for truth.

Agreed; playing a game should not be about watching things happen but the experience you get knowing you make things happen in the game, and how you feel doing it.

That’s what’s enjoyable about video games: people can look at other media from differing viewpoints too, but the characters and their actions are already decided no matter who sees them.  In games, you go one step further and make some of their actions your own for an even more personal touch and unique take on the experience.
